The Viñoly tower is part of the Mahler 4 complex on the Amsterdam Zuidas (south-axe). This is the first project Viñoly completed in Europe. Next to this tower, the complex consists out of office buildings by Toyo Ito, Michael Graves, Architecten Cie and Skidmore, Owings & Merill. The overall masterplan was designed by Dutch architect Pi de Bruijn of the Architecten Cie. The construction of this 91m high tower if made out of steel, with a concrete core for stability. Very recognizable characteristics of this building are the carved flight stairs and the prominent façade-profiles. The Dutch designing counterpart was Van den Oever, Zaaijer & partners.
